Based in the Doctoral College, providing careers coaching and counselling, Rana is a professionally qualified careers consultant with experience working in both the labour market and education with a broad range of individuals, including professionals and managers from sectors ranging from engineering and IT to education and the arts. In between careers contracts she has worked at the Royal Society of Medicine and the Brewing Research Institute providing information services. With a strong personal interest in the arts she is particularly interested in creative approaches to career exploration and planning.

Rana is a member of the national AGCAS Research Students and Research Staff Careers Task Group contributing to the development of best practice and resources to support career guidance practitioners in their work with postgraduate and early-career researchers.
